The water-resistant outer fabric helps protect your baby from wind and winter moisture, while the insulating filling and soft fluffy merino wool lining create a warm and cosy environment for everyday winter walks.

Designed to grow with your child

Without the lower extension, the footmuff measures approximately 50 × 90 cm, making it ideal for newborns in a carrycot. As your child grows, simply attach the removable lower section using the zips to extend the length to approximately 50 × 115 cm.

The extended version is suitable for most pushchairs and can usually be used until around three years of age. Universal harness openings allow the safety straps to pass through the footmuff.

Simply explained: why merino wool?

Fluffy merino wool works as a natural insulating layer. Air becomes trapped between the fibres, helping to maintain a comfortable temperature around your baby. At the same time, wool naturally absorbs moisture, helping to create a pleasant environment during winter walks.

Temperature-regulating properties do not replace appropriate clothing. Always dress your child according to the weather conditions, wind and level of activity.

Our manufacturing experience

Black has always been one of our most popular colours. It looks elegant, matches almost every stroller and never goes out of fashion.

However, we also like to be honest about one practical detail. Just like on a black car, light-coloured fibres and tiny specks of dust are naturally more visible on black fabric than on lighter colours. This is simply an optical contrast and not a defect of the material. If you prefer these small fibres to be less noticeable, a grey or beige footmuff may be a better choice.

When selecting the materials, we were not aiming for the highest possible waterproof rating at any cost. Our outer fabric has a 600 mm / 24-hour waterproof rating, which, after years of manufacturing experience, we have found to be an excellent balance between protection from moisture and breathability.

The footmuff is designed primarily for use in a stroller, where your child is protected not only by the outer fabric but also by the stroller canopy. It provides reliable protection during snowfall and light to moderate rain on everyday walks. However, it is not intended as outdoor equipment for extreme weather conditions.

A higher waterproof rating often comes at the expense of breathability. That is why we chose a material that helps keep moisture out while still allowing the fabric to breathe, creating a more comfortable environment inside the footmuff.

Caring for fluffy merino wool

Fluffy merino wool may naturally release a small amount of loose fibre, especially during the first weeks of use. This is a normal characteristic of the material rather than a manufacturing defect. You can learn more in our article How to Care for Fluffy Merino Wool.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this footmuff suitable for both carrycots and pushchairs?

Yes. Thanks to the removable lower extension, it can be used first in a carrycot and later in most pushchairs.

Why are loose merino fibres more noticeable on the black footmuff?

Light-coloured wool fibres naturally stand out more on dark fabrics because of the colour contrast. This is completely normal and does not affect the quality or durability of the footmuff.

Is the lining made from genuine sheepskin?

No. We use natural sheep's wool knitted onto a textile backing. Our footmuffs do not contain animal hide or genuine sheepskin.

How often should I wash the footmuff?

In normal use, airing the footmuff is often enough. Wash it only when genuinely necessary and always follow the care instructions.
