Product detailed description
All-Season Merino Wool Sleeping Bag 80 cm for Comfortable Movement
As children grow, they often become much more active during sleep. They turn, bend and stretch their legs and may travel around a surprising amount of the cot during the night. A Merino wool sleeping bag 80 cm provides room for natural movement while moving together with your child.
The inside is made from a soft Merino wool knit, which naturally helps manage temperature and excess moisture. The outer layer is made from 100% cotton in a warm brown shade with a playful pattern of white sheep.
The sleeping bag has a TOG rating of 0.67 and is suitable for room temperatures of approximately 19–25 °C. Clothing worn underneath can be adjusted according to the actual room temperature and your child's individual needs.
More movement does not mean giving up the sleeping bag
As your child grows and becomes more active during sleep, there is no need to automatically switch to a traditional blanket. If your child is comfortable sleeping in a sleeping bag, choosing the right larger size can provide the extra room they need.
One practical advantage is that the sleeping bag moves together with your child. When they turn or kick their legs, it does not simply end up at the other end of the cot like a loose blanket can.
Simply explained: Merino does more than keep you warm
Merino wool is often thought of as a material for cold weather. However, its natural properties also make it useful in an all-season sleeping bag. Merino can help manage moisture and support comfortable temperature regulation around the body.
The aim is therefore not to make your child as warm as possible. We use the soft Merino knit lining to help create a comfortable microclimate during sleep.
- helps support natural temperature regulation,
- helps manage excess moisture,
- is breathable,
- the soft knit feels pleasant to the touch,
- Merino wool naturally helps reduce the build-up of unpleasant odours.
How to choose the right 80 cm sleeping bag size
An 80 cm sleeping bag is not automatically intended for a child who is 80 cm tall. Your child's head remains outside the sleeping bag, so we recommend choosing the size according to the body length from the shoulders to the feet.
Measure your child from the shoulders to the feet and allow enough room for comfortable leg movement. At the same time, the sleeping bag should fit properly around the neckline and armholes and should not be unnecessarily loose around the upper body.
For detailed advice, read our guide on how to choose the right sleeping bag size. We recommend measuring your child before ordering rather than relying only on age or clothing size.

How to choose: length is not the only thing that matters
When choosing a sleeping bag, there are two things to consider. Your child needs enough room in the lower section to bend and stretch their legs comfortably, while the upper section should not be too loose.
For this reason, we do not recommend buying a significantly larger size simply so your child can grow into it. A correctly chosen sleeping bag should fit your child's current measurements.
Our experience from making sleeping bags: they can grow with your child
We often hear from parents whose children have slept in a sleeping bag since they were babies and gradually move from one size to the next. For these children, the familiar sleeping bag can become a natural part of their bedtime routine.
Outgrowing a smaller size therefore does not have to mean giving up sleeping bags altogether. If your child enjoys sleeping this way, simply choosing the appropriate longer size gives them more space while preserving something familiar.
Plenty of room for active little legs
For more active sleepers, space in the lower part of the sleeping bag is particularly important. The shape allows your child to bend and stretch their legs and naturally change position during sleep.
The sleeping bag therefore provides freedom of movement while staying with your child throughout the night.
A practical two-way zipper
The two-way zipper makes dressing and everyday use easier. The sleeping bag can be conveniently opened from either direction whenever needed.
How to care for a Merino wool sleeping bag
Merino wool does not need to be washed after every use. If the sleeping bag is not dirty, thorough airing is often sufficient. This helps reduce unnecessary washing and wear on the material.
When washing is necessary, use a wool programme at a maximum of 30 °C. Choose a detergent suitable for wool, use a low spin speed and do not use fabric softener. Always follow the care instructions on the product label.

When is it time to move on from the 80 cm size?
When there is less room at the bottom and your child can no longer comfortably stretch their legs, it is time to measure them again. When choosing the next size, use the shoulder-to-feet measurement as your main guide.
If your child is used to sleeping in a sleeping bag and sleeps comfortably in one, they can simply continue with the next length. There is no need to switch to a traditional blanket just because your child is growing.
Frequently asked questions about the 80 cm Merino sleeping bag
What size child is an 80 cm sleeping bag suitable for?
We recommend choosing the size according to your child's shoulder-to-feet measurement rather than age or total height alone. There should be enough room for movement in the lower section while the upper part fits correctly around the neckline and armholes.
Is a sleeping bag suitable for a child who moves around a lot at night?
Yes. The lower section provides room for natural leg movement and changing position during sleep. At the same time, the sleeping bag moves together with your child and cannot simply be kicked away like a loose blanket.
Is a Merino sleeping bag only suitable for winter?
No. This model has a TOG rating of 0.67 and is suitable for room temperatures of approximately 19–25 °C. We also use Merino for its ability to manage moisture and support comfortable temperature regulation.
What should my child wear underneath the sleeping bag?
Adjust the clothing layers according to the actual room temperature and your child's individual needs. The amount of clothing underneath can therefore be adapted to the conditions in the room.
How often should I wash a Merino wool sleeping bag?
If it is not dirty, thorough airing is often sufficient. When washing is necessary, use a wool programme at a maximum of 30 °C, a suitable wool detergent, a low spin speed and no fabric softener.
Where is the sleeping bag made?
Our sleeping bags are designed and made in the Czech Republic.
