All-Season Merino Wool Sleeping Bag 60 cm for Babies

Creating a comfortable sleeping environment for your baby is not simply about keeping them as warm as possible. Breathability and the ability of the material to manage moisture are important too. This is why we use a soft Merino wool knit on the inside of our all-season 60 cm sleeping bag.

Merino naturally helps regulate thermal comfort and manage excess moisture around the body. The outer layer is made from 100% cotton in a neutral grey shade with a playful sheep print.

The sleeping bag has a TOG rating of 0.67 and is suitable for room temperatures of approximately 19–25 °C. Always adjust the clothing worn underneath according to the actual room temperature and your baby's individual needs.

Why use a sleeping bag for your baby?

Babies naturally move during sleep and can easily kick off a traditional blanket. A sleeping bag stays with your baby and provides a consistent layer throughout the night without the need to repeatedly cover them again.

A correctly sized sleeping bag also provides enough room for natural leg movement. At the same time, it is important that the neckline and armholes fit properly and that the sleeping bag is not unnecessarily large.

Simply explained: why do we use Merino wool?

Merino wool is useful for much more than simply keeping your baby warm. One of its most valuable properties is its ability to respond to changing conditions around the body.

You can think of Merino as a material that helps create a comfortable microclimate. When your baby becomes warmer and perspires, Merino helps manage excess moisture. When the temperature is cooler, the structure of the wool helps maintain comfortable warmth.

How to choose the right 60 cm sleeping bag size

Do not choose a sleeping bag based on age alone. A 60 cm sleeping bag does not mean that it is intended for a baby who is 60 cm tall. Your baby's head remains outside the sleeping bag, so the shoulder-to-feet measurement is more useful when choosing the correct size.

There should be enough room in the lower part for your baby to comfortably bend and move their legs. However, the sleeping bag should not be too loose around the neckline and armholes.

Our experience from making sleeping bags: warmer is not always better

With products designed for sleep, it can be tempting to assume that the warmer the material, the better. From our experience, however, finding the right balance between thermal comfort, breathability and the actual room conditions is much more important.

This is one of the reasons we like working with Merino wool. We do not use it simply as a “warm wool”, but as a functional natural material that can manage moisture and help maintain a comfortable environment around your baby's body.

All-season use and TOG 0.67

With a TOG rating of 0.67, this model is one of our lighter sleeping bags. We recommend it for room temperatures of approximately 19–25 °C, making it suitable for use throughout much of the year.

This does not mean your baby should always wear the same clothing underneath. In a warmer room, a lighter layer may be sufficient, while clothing can be adjusted when the room is cooler. Always take your baby's individual thermal comfort into account.

How to choose: do not buy a sleeping bag that is too large

When buying children's clothing, choosing a larger size “to grow into” is common. With sleeping bags, however, this is not the best approach.

A sleeping bag that is too large may be unnecessarily loose around the neckline and armholes. The correct size should provide enough room for leg movement while fitting properly around the upper body. Once your baby outgrows the 60 cm version, you can move on to one of our longer sizes.

From 60 cm to sleeping bags for growing children

Children who become used to sleeping in a sleeping bag from an early age sometimes want to continue using one as they grow. That is why this model is also available in 70, 80, 90 and 100 cm lengths.

And if even 100 cm eventually becomes too small, selected sleeping bags can also be made to order in 140 cm and 150 cm lengths.

Practical two-way zipper

The two-way zipper makes dressing easier and allows the sleeping bag to be conveniently opened from either direction. The zipper is covered by a fabric flap so that it does not disrupt the appearance of the front of the sleeping bag.

How to wash a Merino wool sleeping bag

One practical advantage of Merino wool is that it does not need to be washed after every use. If the sleeping bag is not dirty, thorough airing is often sufficient.

When washing is necessary, we recommend a wool programme at a maximum of 30 °C, a detergent suitable for wool and a low spin speed. Do not use fabric softener and always follow the care instructions on the product label.
