Detailed information

Product detailed description

100 cm Merino Wool Sleeping Bag for Growing Children

A sleeping bag does not have to be just for babies. Many children become accustomed to sleeping in one from an early age and feel so comfortable in it that they simply do not want to switch to a traditional blanket as they grow.

That is why we also make our all-season Merino wool sleeping bag in a 100 cm length. It gives growing children more room to move while allowing them to continue sleeping in the familiar way they have known since they were little.

The inside is made from a soft Merino wool knit, which naturally helps manage temperature and excess moisture. The outer layer is made from 100% cotton in a soft beige colour with a pattern of small white bunnies.

With a TOG rating of 0.67, the sleeping bag is suitable for room temperatures of approximately 19–25 °C. Clothing worn underneath can be adjusted according to the actual room temperature and your child's individual needs.

When a sleeping bag becomes part of the bedtime routine

From our experience making children's sleeping bags, we know that some children become very attached to this way of sleeping. They have slept in a sleeping bag since they were babies, associate it with bedtime and continue to prefer it even when they are older.

Moving to the next sleeping bag size can therefore be a more natural choice than suddenly replacing something familiar with a loose blanket. A larger sleeping bag gives the child more space while preserving the sleeping environment they already know.

Why Merino wool is not just for winter

Merino wool is often associated with cold weather, but warmth is only one of its properties. It can also help manage moisture and support comfortable temperature regulation around the body.

This is why we use Merino in an all-season sleeping bag. The aim is not to make the sleeping bag as warm as possible, but to take advantage of the natural properties of Merino wool to create a comfortable environment for sleep.

  • helps support natural temperature regulation,
  • helps manage excess moisture,
  • is breathable,
  • the soft knit feels pleasant against the skin,
  • Merino naturally helps reduce the build-up of unpleasant odours.

How to choose the right 100 cm sleeping bag size

A 100 cm sleeping bag is not automatically intended for a child who is 100 cm tall. Your child's head remains outside the sleeping bag, so total body height is not the best measurement for choosing the correct size.

We recommend measuring your child from the shoulders to the feet. There should be enough additional room for comfortable leg movement, while the sleeping bag should still fit properly around the neckline and armholes.

For more help, read our guide on how to choose the right sleeping bag size. We explain how to measure your child and why choosing solely according to age or clothing size can be misleading.

More room for growing legs

As children grow, having enough room for natural movement becomes increasingly important. The sleeping bag allows your child to bend and stretch their legs and change position during sleep without feeling tightly wrapped.

The aim is to find the right balance: plenty of space around the legs for comfortable movement while maintaining a proper fit around the upper body.

A practical two-way zipper

The two-way zipper makes dressing and everyday use easier. The sleeping bag can be conveniently opened from either direction whenever needed.

How to care for a Merino wool sleeping bag

Merino does not need to be washed after every use. If the sleeping bag is not dirty, thorough airing is often enough. This also helps avoid unnecessary washing and reduces wear on the material.

When washing is necessary, use a wool programme at a maximum of 30 °C, choose a detergent suitable for wool and use a low spin speed. Do not use fabric softener and always follow the instructions on the product care label.

For detailed advice, read our guide on how to wash Merino wool correctly, including practical information about washing, drying and everyday Merino care.

What happens when your child outgrows a smaller sleeping bag?

If your child sleeps well in a sleeping bag, there is no reason to move to a traditional blanket simply because they have outgrown a smaller size. For many children, moving up to a longer sleeping bag means they can keep a familiar part of their bedtime routine while gaining the extra space they need.

The 100 cm sleeping bag therefore naturally follows on from our smaller sizes and allows growing children to continue sleeping in the way they already know and enjoy.

Frequently asked questions about the 100 cm Merino sleeping bag

Is a 100 cm sleeping bag still suitable for an older child?

Yes. Sleeping bags are not only for babies. Some children are used to sleeping in one from an early age and continue to prefer it as they grow. The important thing is to choose a size that provides enough room for movement while fitting properly around the upper body.

What size child is a 100 cm sleeping bag suitable for?

We recommend choosing according to your child's shoulder-to-feet measurement rather than age or total height alone. The sleeping bag should provide enough room for the legs while fitting correctly around the neckline and armholes.

Can my child move comfortably in a 100 cm sleeping bag?

Yes. The shape provides space to bend and stretch the legs and change position naturally during sleep. A correctly chosen sleeping bag should provide comfort without unnecessarily restricting movement.

Is Merino wool too warm for year-round use?

Merino does more than simply provide warmth. It also helps manage moisture and supports comfortable temperature regulation. This sleeping bag has a TOG rating of 0.67 and is suitable for room temperatures of approximately 19–25 °C.

What should my child wear underneath?

Adjust the type and number of clothing layers according to the actual room temperature and your child's individual needs. This allows the same sleeping bag to be used across a range of temperatures within the recommended conditions.

How often should I wash the Merino sleeping bag?

If it is not dirty, there is no need to wash it after every use. Airing is often sufficient. When washing is necessary, use a wool programme at a maximum of 30 °C, a suitable wool detergent and no fabric softener.

Where is the sleeping bag made?

Our sleeping bags are designed and made in the Czech Republic.
